Description

An early Western Maryland 4-6-2 simmers in the station as her Passengers board. It is Unknown to the individual who colorized this picture (Me) where the train was going, though judging by the direction of the train, Either Elkins or Hagerstown.

These light Pacifics were no match for the grades on the Connelsville extension, built in 1911, so in 1912 these handsome locomotives where overshadowed by heavier pacifics numbered in the 200 series.

Slowly, these engines were disused, and eventually sold to the Seaboard.
